You might think an animated Web series about two pasty superheroes who fight crime with their blinding pallor would be a one-joke show--but you'd be wrong. The real comedy of Pale Force comes from comedian Jim Gaffigan humiliating talk-show host Conan O'Brien over and over and over again, each time with some new, inventive debasement. Gaffigan (My Boys, Away We Go) writes, produces, and does all the voices (including that of O'Brien, who has no creative input), so naturally the Jim Gaffigan character is the brave and muscular Pale Man, while his sidekick Conan O'Brien is girly and wussy and repeatedly wets himself. Conan gets captured by an evil puppeteer, competes in a Miss Pale America contest, is portrayed by Dakota Fanning when a movie is made about Pale Force, and gets a swirlie from the Golden Girls, while Jim Gaffigan gets carved into Mount Rushmore and makes out with Beyonc. The crude animation only enhances the humor. Be sure to watch the extras, featuring scenes from Late Night with Conan O'Brien, where most of these animated shorts were debuted--Conan genuinely does not seem to know what new embarrassment is about to befall him. Also appearing are Eartha Kitt, Philip Seymour Hoffman, Tim Burton, Helena Bonham Carter, Nicole Kidman, and the cast of Law & Order, all voiced by Jim Gaffigan. --Bret Fetzer
